Asthma

Locally, asthma affects and estimated 180,000 adults and 55,000 children in San Diego and Imperial Counties. In this section you will find
relevant resources on asthma to improve the management of your asthma s patients.


Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), when colorectal cancer among African Americans is detected at a localized stage, the survival rate is 84 percent. Unfortunately, the reality is that only 32 percent of these cancers are detected at a point when treatment can be most effective. This section features links to websites that provide resources for prevention and early detection.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a serious chronic disease that can be managed through lifestyle changes and medication. Nearly 21 million Americans have diabetes, and at least 54 million people over age 20 have pre-diabetes.
In this coming age of Pay for Performance, the efficient management of diabetes patients will be large part of the primary care practice.
